Personal Profile

Diana Nadene Pearson Cromley, Mason County Clerk, was born and reared in Mason County, West Virginia. She is the daughter of Fred and Nadene Nibert Pearson, both residents of Point Pleasant, WV.

Diana is married to Edward A. Cromley IV, a math teacher/football coach at Wahama High School in Mason WV. They are the parents of twins, Bryan Scott and Brooke Suzanne, both freshmen at Wahama High School. Diana is a graduate of Point Pleasant High School and Marshall University. She was elected to the position of Mason County Clerk in 1992 and commenced her six year term in January 1993.

Since being clerk, Diana has made several additions to the office including purchasing an optical scanner to assist in streamlining the election process. This machine counts 300 ballots per minute and is a great savings to taxpayers of Mason County inasmuch as it alleviates the poll workers from having to hand count the ballots on election day. Additionally, Diana has laminated many fragile documents in the record room and has indexed old records to make the search process more user friendly.

Diana is a member of the West Virginia Association of County and Circuit Clerks, where she serves as Assistant Secretary. She is President of the Mason County Library Board. She is a member of the International Association of Election Officials, Recorders and Clerks.

She is Treasurer of the Christian Young Peoples Center and a member of Living Word Church in Point Pleasant.
