County Clerk Responsibilities

Election

The Clerk prepares the equipment used in each election. Each person who registers to vote within the county has a registration card which is maintained and stored by the clerk. Poll workers for each election are trained by the clerk. Supplies including ballot boxes, poll booths, etc., are provided by the clerk. Day of the election, the clerk is in charge of the election ad must endeavor to assist in anyway possible to make the day smooth for voters and election officials. After the election, the clerk tallies the results on an electronic scanner which reads and calculates the results at a rate of 300/minute. Election results are available around 10-11pm on election day.
