County Clerk Responsibilities
The Clerk issues marriage license. The process begins by the couple to be wed coming to the clerk's office and making application. The cost at that time is $8.00. They must bring proper ID (drivers license, passport) and give information to be placed on the application. They must have a hospital licensed in WV to perform a blood test. The results of the test are brought to the Clerk who will, after three day waiting period, issue a license to be married. The cost at this time is $15.00. Once the couple are married the minister returns the license to the clerk who will index the same. |
